Kaia Kanepi on võitnud ühe WTA turniiri ja kaheksa ITF turniiri. Gran Slam turniiridel on ta jõudnud kolmel korral veerandfinaali (2008 French Open, 2010 Wimbledon ja US Open). Australian Openil jõudis Kanepi aastal 2009 kolmandasse ringi.

Kaia Kanepi on Euroopa meister kuni 16-aastaste hulgas (2000), Eesti täiskasvanute meister üksikmängus (1999, 2000, 2007), paarismängus (1999, 2000, 2007) ning segapaarismängus (2000, 2003, 2004).

Aastal 2001 Pariisis French Openil võitis Kaia Kanepi Suure Slämmi noorteturniiri. Finaalis alistas ta Svetlana Kuznetsova 6:3, 1:6, 6:2.

Aastal 2011 Tokios, Toray Pan Pacific Openi kolmandas ringis alistas Kaia Kanepi maailma esireketi Caroline Wozniacki tulemusega 7:5, 1:6, 6:4.
